16 Dec 2009: Birthday Celebration
The ex-mayor of Phimai, Mr Ratana Phongphimai and his wife, Mrs Ratana Phongphimai presented me with a birthday gift
Today was my birthday. The team threw a surprise birthday party for me at the ex-mayor of Phimai, Mr Ratana Phongphimai's, guesthouse. We were all digging into the delicious food in the guesthouse restaurant when suddenly the lights went off and I could only see candle light. I was appalled as I thought it was a blackout. Suddenly, another member of the team, David, emerged with a chocolate birthday cake. I did not even notice David sneaking into the kitchen. HAHA :) To put the icing on the cake, Mr Phongphimai presented me with a box containing two mugs.
This was the best birthday celebration I have ever had in my whole life. Most of the time, we celebrate without birthday cakes as Mum says they are too fattening. Pastor Pauline also presented me with a hand-woven pouch from the church.
