A Japanese Delicacy
If you guys, didn't know what this 'Japanese delicacy' is, it is SUSHI!!! Sushi is vinegar rice, topped with other ingredients, such as fish, egg and crab meat. This sushi is homemade and the ingredients (Rice and Salmon/Rice with egg) is served rolled around dried and pressed layer sheets of seaweed. I think that this is one of the most healthy lunches one can have. Let me explain the nutritional value of each ingredient to you:
1) Salmon is high in Omega 3 and is heart-friendly. According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omega-3_fatty_acid, the high level of Omega 3 consumed by Eskimos reduced triglycerides, heart rate, blood pressure and atherosclerosis. I am sure all of you are not too familiar with 'triglycerides' and 'atherosclerosis' so I have done some research on that as well. According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triglycerides, 'In the human body, high levels of triglycerides in the bloodstream have been linked to atherosclerosis, and, by extension, the risk of heart disease and stroke.' Haha, it looks like my blog entry is becoming a science report so please forgive me for straying to another subject :)
2) Rice provides us with carbohydrates which is converted into energy. All of us need energy for our daily processes.
3) Egg provides us with protein which helps in the growth and repair of damaged cells.
4) Last but not least, seaweed provides us with fibre which helps you to get rid of excess waste in your body.
Hopefully my 'analysis' have helped you to understand the benefits of eating sushi and hope you will try it soon!!
